Pellet Therapy FAQ's

  • What is Pellet Therapy?

BioTE Medical offers bioidentical hormone replacement therapy in the form of subcutaneous pellets. The BioTE Method uses Estradiol and Testosterone pellets. These pellets are inserted into the buttocks area during an in-office visit, after testing has been done to determine the exact quantity of the hormone each patient requires. Every dose is custom created based on your tests to ensure that your body has the exact concentration of hormones needed.

It is said that bioidentical hormones, such as the ones used by BioTE Medical, work better with the natural chemistry of the body because they most closely replicate the molecular structure of the hormones that naturally occur within the body.

  • How Long Do Pellets Last?

Pellets last between three and six months depending on gender, weight, absorption rates and the amount of deficiency or surplus of hormones present within the patient at the time of administration. Pellets are reinserted between two and four times per year to help keep hormones optimized and balanced.

  • What is the Primary Advantage of BHRT Pellet Therapy?

Pellet therapy differs from pills and creams in that it allows for consistent dosing throughout the day. Other administrations of hormones can create rollercoaster-like effects for the user as the pills and creams do not release consistent amounts of the hormone throughout the day.

  • What is the Advantage to Bioidentical Hormones Over Synthetic Hormones?

It is said that bioidentical hormones, such as the ones used by BioTE Medical work better with the natural chemistry of the body because they most closely replicate the molecular structure of the hormones that naturally occur within the body.

  • Is There More Than One Type of Pellet?

Yes, there are two major pellet therapy types: estrogen pellets and testosterone pellets.

  • What Are Estrogen Pellets?

Estrogen pellets are small cylinders composed of estradiol, a form of estrogen. Estrogen pellets treat emotional, reproductive and non-reproductive symptoms. The most common administration for estrogen pellets is to treat the uncomfortable symptoms of aging in women, though they can also be used as a preventative treatment for other conditions and to balance hormones of men and women of any age. • What Are Testosterone Pellets?

Testosterone pellets are small cylinders made of custom compounded testosterone. The testosterone pellets can be used to treat a variety of conditions including emotional symptoms, reproductive symptoms and non-reproductive symptoms. There are also conditions that may be treated preventatively by testosterone pellets.
